Health Care Provider Webinars | Division of Workers' Compensation
00:03
[Amy Rich] Hi my name is Amy Rich. I work for the Division of Workers’ Compensation.
Welcome to our 2020 webinar series.
We do education for healthcare providers,
and we conduct live webinars.
[Jennifer Kinman] We treat all kinds of injuries here in an orthopedic setting,
anything from massive trauma, motor vehicle accidents,
or any other kind of injury that may be more overuse in nature.
Having the ability for our staff to sit in
a room, not have to travel, and be able to
share the learning is really important to
us.
[Amy Rich] Now we’re going to review completing the DWC Form-73, or the Work Status Report.
[Amy Rich] We want to de-mystify workers' compensation for the health care providers in Texas.
Pre-authorization, medical necessity, treatment guidelines, billing, coding.
In the past we’ve done in-person, all-day
seminars and it takes people time to get there,
and time away from their busy clinics.
[Question asker] That zero to eight, that is the number of hours they can do that specific activity
01:06
for the entire day is that correct?
[Amy Rich] Yes.
[Question asker] Ok.
[Amy RIch] They like the lunchtime experience.
They’re all together in their training rooms, and they get to listen to each other,
talk about what we’re presenting, and they get to send questions to us during the live webinars,
and we answer them.
[Jennifer Kinman] Previously we’d have one person go to a session.
So we’re able now to have our entire work
comp team, as well as our clinical staff,
watch a webinar and understand the topic better.
[Amy Rich] Now we’re offering some of these webinars on demand.
They go to our website and review the topics that are pre-recorded, and they can watch it,
start and stop at their convenience.
There’s also a resource page at the end
of the webinar so that they can call-in and write us
if they have questions about what they watched.
[Jennifer Kinman] It would be really helpful for employees that are on-boarding with us.
They need to understand compensability, they need to understand what needs to happen on
our side with the claims in order to be paid
for the service and do it compliantly.
