State Insurance Restraints on Health Insurance Providers : Insurance Questions

we named susan combs and today we're going to talk about insurance restraints on health insurance providers so with the Affordable Care Act there's a lot of restraints that are coming into play to help for health insurance providers so there's different rules and regulations that they're having to play by that they've never had to play by before so when the Affordable Care Act is going to be in one hundred percent full swing in 2014 there's a lot of states so there's 37 states that have actually been going through medical underwriting so they've

determined the race they've determined if they were going to cover somebody or not covering summary as of 2014 there's going to be restraints on these providers because they're no longer going to be able to say no to anybody they're going to have to take everybody regardless of their health they're not going to be able to provide cancellation notices because of the health they're also going to have what's called the 10 essential benefits that are going to have to be built into the plans that they they offer to the public so there's a lot of new restraints that have come into play and that are actually making

the insurance premiums go up by quite a bit because now they're having all these other restrictions what a lot of the providers are doing to combat these restrictions is you might notice that if you look at say the health insurance exchange you might notice a lot of you know new different carriers or maybe the carriers that you thought you knew before but then when you go to do a doctor search you find your doctors not in the network for them so a lot of these carriers are offered much smaller networks and because then they can try to contain the cost as much as possible so like I said there's a lot of different restricts on the carriers now
